‘I’m born, bred and live locally. I have no strings attached and I’m a proven local independent Councillor who is passionate and deeply cares for our local communities.  We were all born with two ears and one mouth but I promise to listen twice as much and represent your voice in the Australian Parliament’

Please join me and lets do politics better together.’

If elected, my promise to you:

  • I will advocate for all measures to reduce the cost of living and fight for subsidies to help young families, promote physical activity and take the pressure of cost of living.
  • I will help to minimise the harm which gambling has on our community including reducing pokies.
  • I will consult across community and give younger people a voice in decision making.
  • I will invite community members and young people to Canberra to participate in the parliamentary process.
  • I will fight for our fair share of infrastructure investment including transport, health and education, not just when there is an election. The far southwest can’t continue to be treated as second class citizens.  This includes the Spring Farm Parkway, Picton bypass, Camden Bypass extension onto Camden Vally Way, Wilton Hospital and rail connections to the Western Sydney airport.
  • I will fight for a better tax system, lower taxes and real cost of living measures including utility and grocery relief.
  • I will ensure our local communities are protected including holding the new Western Sydney Airport to account
  • I will hold quarterly community forums and weekly community catchups across Hume.
  • I will be present and focus all my time and attention in Hume and not travelling around to advance a political cause.
  • I will report back to you on progress and developments.

My experience:

  • I am an elected independent Councillor on Camden Council
  • Born, bred and live in the electorate.
  • 20 years advocacy experience through leading and running 6 different advocacy and peak body not for profits as the CEO.
  • I have an undergraduate degree and a Master in Business Administration.
  • I have lived experience as a father with young children, a small business owner, mortgage holder and community advocate.

Here are 10 reasons why I am an independent.

  • I like to be bossed around by the community and not a political party.
  • I have no strings attached and only the community influences me.
  • I want to spend 100% of my time with the community and not waste it on party politics and pleasing party donors.
  • I want to use my talent, my skills and my experience to make a real difference in the community.
  • I want to truly represent the community in a direct way and not be insulated, hindered or shielded by a party.
  • I want to say what I think and what I believe even if it makes other politicians feel uncomfortable.
  • I want to remain my genuine self, I want the community to keep me humble and connected and I want the community to guide me.
  • I want you the community to be involved in the decision making process and I will welcome this at all times.
  • I want to revive your trust and belief in the parliamentary system.
  • I believe politics can be done better.

A few fast facts:

  • Decades ago 72% of people used to vote the same way at each election and now only 37% continue to vote for the same party. This reveals that people want change and are happy to change their voting behavior to ensure the best local community representation.
  • Politicians are one of the lowest trusted professions in Australia with only 15% of people trusting politicians. I want to change this and prove to you that this shouldn’t be the case.
  • Currently there are 13 independent members of the House of Representatives and 4 independent senators who all make valuable and unhindered contributions to the 47th Parliament of Australia.
